All of our writing slopes are either in fine original condition or have been sympathetically restored in our own workshops.
As the youngest of these is over 100yrs old they particularly suffer from deterioration of the writing surface and the most common restoration to undertake is the replacement of a worn out surface with a new gold tooled leather skiver. This when first done can seem a bit too “new” but will soon mellow with age and is an important restoration to undertake for the future viability of the piece.
Our range of writing slopes covers all historical styles from the early Victorian heavy brass bound campaign models through to the elegant and exquisitely made more decorative inlaid examples of the later Victorian era
