Description

  This was a   Georgian tea caddy in partridge wood  circa 1790.Partridge wood so called as the grain looks like the birds plumage,this box is edged in box wood and has  boxwood escutcheon..The lid of this box has a slight split where the carrying handle was originally located.this is reflected in the price 

The interior has been refurbished as a jewellery box in a green cotton velvet and is complete with a drop in tray for small items of jewellery

It is complete with the original hinges and working lock
